AC Comics began publishing their line of Golden-Age comic book reprints in the mid-eighties.
The purpose was threefold:

• To help preserve the history of the American comic book.
• To make material available to collectors who have been priced out of the Golden-Age collecting market.
• To introduce Golden-Age material to a new generation of comic book readers.

To date at AC Comics, we have reprinted a huge volume of Golden-Age material from many, many Golden Age publishers in a wide variety of genre. Information on several of these publishers and genre are covered in the contents of this site. More detailed information on those covered here plus information on additional publishers and genre are included in our books, Golden Age Greats and Men of Mystery. For example, Men of Mystery #32 has an article about AJAX COMICS. Many issues of our titles contain historical text as well as reprinted stories. In our Online Store you can order today's acclaimed on-going trade paperback series, entitled Golden-Age Greats, has become a comic book industry staple. It provides information on the history of the American comic book, covering a variety of genre and topics such as publishers, artists, writers and characters, making it a valuable source of information on comic books of the 40's and 50's. Also an on-going series, Golden-Age Men of Mystery reprints additional stories with some text and is monthly. This title is specific to characters with duel identities. AC discontinued several reprint series' after a healthy run, but maintains backstock.
