Best of the West Big B-Western Special 1.
100 pages of NEVER PREVIOUSLY REPRINTED Western classics from the heyday of the cowboy comic book; the 1950's!! This is the BIGGEST "all new" Western comic book reprint collection we have EVER offered, a great entertainment value for the Western comic aficionado. A great Monte Hale painted cover starts off this top-flight package, then inside cover photos of Roy Rogers, Trigger, Rex Allen, Rocky Lane and Monte Hale. Once you're past the cover, the first vintage story (not seen since it's original appearance within the pages of a Fawcett Comics title almost 60 years ago) is cover star Monte Hale in "Safecrackers Unlimited"; drawn by Ed Good. Then, it's Magazine Enterprise's Durango Kid, as drawn by Fred Guardineer; appears in "The Hot Money"; followed by a three-part, novel-length saga starring Lash LaRue- "Struggle In The Wilderness". Then, it's Roy Rogers and Trigger in "The Gold Gulch Stampede", by John Buscema; Sunset Carson in an untitled story drawn by Keats Petree; Tim Holt in "Satan's Sixguns", with art by Frank Bolle; Tom Mix in "The Wedding Present Murder" (drawn by Carl Pfeufer & John Jordan); Rocky Lane in "Dead Man's Revenge", with art by Tom Cooke; and one last Ed Good- drawn Monte Hale gripper, "Rustler's Roundup". Plus, short features like Roy's Western Scrapbook & Roaming The Range with Bob Colt, and an 8-page photo section starring Sunset Carson. All authentic, vintage, full-story reprints, reproduced perfectly in stunning black & white. 104 pages, black & white with color covers. Standard comic book size, saddle stitched. Printed in 2006
