Haunted Horseman # 1
One of the most bizarre and effective comic book characters of all time combined the western genre with elements of the supernatural and horror-The Haunted Horseman! (Originally published in the 1950's by Magazine Enterprises as The Ghost Rider.) 1999 was the 50Th anniversary of the first appearance of this landmark creation, (revived in contemporary times as a supporting cast member in AC's long-running Femforce monthly) so AC produced this special commemorative one-shot comprised of classic reprints of the original M.E. strips, as drawn by all-time favorite western artist (and GR co-creator) Dick(Fantastic Four) Ayers! This book boasts beautiful, crystal clear reprints of complete Golden Age stories, including "Spook Justice" and "The Fire Ghost", from Ghost Rider #1, 1950; "No Law In Little Bend", from Tim Holt #36, 1953;"Magico", from Redmask #45, 1954, and "He Who Laughs",(the very last GR story, from his original M. E. run) from Redmask #50, 1954. Plus, a special bonus Tales Of The Ghost Rider story, drawn in 1954, but never before published- "The Second Thunder Valley"!! All stories drawn by Ayers, with inking help from Ernie Bache, and scripts by Gardner Fox and Carl Memling. Includes a capsule history of his comic book career, and a cover by Frank Frazetta!! Color cover, interiors are black and white with graytones. 44 pages, 6" X 91/4" format. Printed in 1999.

Redmask # 1

Magazine Enterprises had been publishing a successful comic book series based on RKO film star Tim Holt, when editor Ray Krank decided to add a new dimension to the character's comic adventures in 1950' and have him adopt the scarlet , masked identity f Red Mask, to fight evildoers in the Old West. Here, AC reprints three of his most engrossing adventures from the Golden Age of western comics, all written by Gardner Fox, and drawn by Frank Bolle. "The Deathless Riders" is from Tim Holt #31, 1952; "Outlaw Gold"

Red Mask # 2
3-D Effect Issue!! The 3-D movie was all the rage in the early 1950's, when RedMask (the fictional costumed identity of real-life western movie star Tim Holt )artist Frank Bolle approached Magazine Enterprises editor Ray Krank with an idea to try to use conventional drawing techiques on comic book pages to simulate 3-D-by implementing extreme perspective, and drawing figures and elements breaking panel borders. Krank liked it, and Bolle instituted the approach on M. E.'s RedMask #39, and used it 'till the end of the book's run. All this stories in this AC Comics classic reprint edition use Bolle's simulated 3-D look, including "The Purple Glove Gang", originally seen in RedMask #51, with art by Frank Bolle; "Death At Split Mesa", from RedMask #44, drawn by Bolle; "The Outlaw Bronc", from RedMask #45, drawn by Bolle, and even on the Red Hawk story, "The Man Who Rode The Moonlight", from Straight Arrow #10, drawn by Bob Powell. Latigo Kid Western # 1
Bill Black's unique bridge between his superhero and Western comic book universes, The Latgo Kid has one foot in both realities. This paranormal gunfighter from the Old West is actually a young range rider named Charlie Starrett. (sound familiar?) In the late 1870's, he would discover that he had special abilities that he had known nothing about. A medicine show operator named Doc Marvel took him under his wing and helped develop Charlie's paranormal powers. Eventually, Charlie tired of the medicine show life, and set out on his own to use his abilities in the war against lawlessness. Half a century later, he would don the cape and mantle of...but that would be telling:) But in these early, formative years, he rides as the masked gunfighter, The Latigo Kid. This book-length story is actually a combination of new Bill Black artwork, and reworked John Severin Billy The Kid pages, edited into a complete saga. An engrossing and unique story, guest starring Magazine Enterprises characters like The Black Phantom, Redmask and The Durango Kid, plus Steve McQueen as bounty hunter Josh Randall, as seen on the classic television show, "Wanted, Dead Or Alive". Back and inside cover photos of Tim Holt, and the real Charles Starrett as The Durango Kid. Color cover, interiors are black and white with graytones. 44 pages, standard comic book format. Printed in 1988.
Price: $5.00

Lemonade Kid #1
ALL FULL COLOR!!! A vintage western feature with a different twist, Magazine Enterprises' The Lemonade Kid was actually the masked identity of a supporting character from another M. E. strip, Bobby Benson And The B-Bar-B Riders. Young ranch owner Bobby's foreman and guardian was Tex Mason, who leads a double life as a government security officer."His shirt is golden and his twin sixguns are steel blue! His drink is lemonade. His name is- The Lemonade Kid!" Like the B-Bar-B strip, The 'Kid's adventures were set in the contemporary west. Though only a backup feature in his original run, he gets a starring roll in this colorful one-shot from the Golden Age of the western comic book, rollicking through a pair of superb reprint adventures drawn by comics genre master Bob Powell: "Web Of Doom", originally seen in Bobby Benson #4, November/December 1950, and "Humpty Dumpty", from Bobby Benson #11, August/September, 1951.(Both stories written by Gardner Fox.) A bonus back-up feature makes this book an all-Bob Powell package, with a tale of the young Cheyenne warrior, Red Hawk- "Message For the Chief". It is reprinted from Straight Arrow #51, and also drawn by the aforementioned Mr. Powell. Color cover by Bob Powell, interiors are full color. 36 pages, standard comic book format. Printed in 1990.
Price: $5.00

For flailing fists, daredevil acrobatics, and magic-in-action, there has never been the equal of... The Presto Kid!!"This great volume reprints in full three of the four stories from his short run, plus a condensed version of the first- his origin.
