The true story of this book is in it’s title- a treasure-trove of Golden Age wonderment, combining crisp, clean, state-of-the-art reprints of complete rare, esoteric and out of print comic book stories with indepth historical analysis within it’s 240 pages. More than 1/3 of this book (that’s over 80 pages) is material never previously printed by AC Comics- articles here-to-fore unpublished, and comic book art not seen since it’s original printing over 50 years ago!! Special focus here is given to the awesome art team of Mort Meskin and Jerry Robinson, including a profusely-illustrated career overview of Mort Meskin by Bill Black, “The Second Comic Career of Mort Meskin”, covering his late 1950’s-’60’s works by Dylan Williams, and an interview with Jerry Robinson by Mark G. Heike. In addition, full-story reprints that represent the artistic duo include adventures of Tom Corbett, Space Cadet, Two-Gun Crowley (a crime story ), Golden Lad, Tomboy, Daredevil, The Black Terror, and The Fighting Yank. Additional reprint stories include adventures starring Cat-Man and Kitten, The Avenger, Don Winslow, Captain Flash, Dick Briefer’s Frankenstein, Crimebuster, Ibis the Invincible, Supermouse, Skyman, Bulletman, Mr. Scarlet and Pinky, Espionage-Starring The Black X, and Mr. Risk.
